How Blood Clean Up is Done

Bodily fluids including blood may be left as a result of injury or a crime. Often, the best time for blood clean up of the area is immediately when it happens, before there is a chance for the blood to dry. Unfortunately, blood dries very quickly. Blood contains proteins and pathogens that make a different type of stain than many other things. Items that have come into contact with blood need to be cleaned thoroughly. Even after superficial cleaning there will often be residue from blood. Blood is easiest to remove from hard surfaces. A special disinfecting solution is used for blood clean up that usually contains bleach. Gloves need to be worn and all the equipment used such as sponges or towels need to be disposed of properly.
